RFA granted Launch Operator License

Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) was granted the license by the UK Civil Aviation Authority this week, allowing them up to 10 vertical rocket launches per year.

This is more good news for the Saxavord Spaceport in Shetland, where RFA intend to launch RFA ONE from launch pad 1. Earlier this month Orbex announced it was changing it’s current launch plans from the Sutherland Spaceport, being built on land leased to Orbex, to the Saxavord site. Saxavord already has all the required CAA licenses in place to permit up to 30 vertical launches per year.

RFA are confident they will make their first launch from the Saxavord Spaceport in 2025, and this launch is already fully booked.
